A trip to Genoa almost always starts with the arrival in a railway station or at the airport hub of the city, or the Cristoforo Colombo Airport in Genoa.
If you are looking for a way to get from the airport to the centre of Genoa, you should know that there are three main options, and they change according to your time constraints and how much you want to spend.
Genoa has the solution for all budgets and needs, so don’t worry!
If you don’t know me yet, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Andrea and in this article, I will give you all the information you may need to move from Genoa airport to the center, by car, taxi or airport shuttle.

How to get from Genoa airport to Genoa city centre?
Volabus Genoa
If you want to save as much as possible and wasting a little more time is not a problem, you can opt for the cheapest solution: the airport shuttle to get from Cristoforo Colombo airport to the center of Genoa or the train station.
This is a service that connects the airport to the city center using the AMT Gran Turismo bus.
The trip is short (about 30 minutes) and will allow you to reach not only the center but also the main station: Genoa Brignole.
The bus stop is right in front of the arrivals area of the airport (ground floor), the ticket costs 5€ (if purchased from the automatic ticket machines or online) or 6€ (if purchased onboard); it is free for children under 4 years of age.
Below I will leave an overview of schedules, prices and useful contacts:
- Prices: 5€ or 6€ (adults), free for children under 4 years old
- Where it leaves from: arrivals area, the ground floor of the airport
- Tel: 848 000 030

Taxi from Genoa airport to the city centre
Usually, those who have more economic availability prefer to move by taxi. But if money isn’t an issue, travelling by taxi can really be a convenient option.
Why’s that? First of all, it’s a matter of time: by taxi, it will take you about 15 minutes, more so if there is a lot of traffic, especially during rush hour.
The distance from the airport to the city centre is about 7km, so travelling by taxi may be the quickest option.
How much is a taxi from Genoa airport to city centre?
Prices range from about €25 to €40 (depending on whether you choose a taxi with a few seats or a minivan suitable for larger groups or families). My advice is to always ask the taxi driver about the cost even before getting into the car to be sure of the price of getting to the center.
Remember that after midnight and until 6 a.m. the costs may rise.
- Prices: from 25 to 40€ approx.
- From where it leaves: arrivals area, ground floor of the airport

- Tel: 010 5966
Renting a car at Genoa airport
Are you planning a road trip to Genoa and Liguria and are you going to rent a car?
Well, you should know first of all that driving in Genoa is not very easy: there are few parking spaces available and most of the city centre is a restricted traffic area (I have talked about it in detail here): these are areas where vehicular traffic is not allowed.
That said, if you’re going to move along the coast, renting a car at Genoa airport could prove to be a great option.
At Cristoforo Colombo Airport you will find several car rental companies, including:
- AVIS
- Budget
- Europcar
- Firefly
- Hertz
- Major
- Sicily by Car
- Sixt
- Thrifty
To find out the price of renting a car, click here and you will be redirected to the official Rentalcars website, where you can compare the different options available.
Private transfer from Genoa airport to downtown
If, on the other hand, you would like a one-way private transfer from Genoa Airport (GOA) to the city center or to your accommodation, you can hire a professional chauffeur company.
Your driver will be waiting for you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it, and will escort you to the car and help you load your luggage inside.
You will travel safely inside an air-conditioned vehicle (and any additional fixings for transporting sports and other equipment), which will take you to your destination in a few minutes.
Upon request, you can request child seats for children of all ages.
You can also arrange with him a private transfer from the hotel to the airport, for when you have your return flight.

-> COMPRAR ENTRADAS AQUÍ
-> COMPRAR ENTRADAS AQUÍ
-> COMPRAR ENTRADAS AQUÍ
Saludos cordiales,
Andrea
