Is the Genoa City Pass worth it? My personal opinion

Before moving on to the conclusions of this post, I will give you my personal opinion on whether or not it is convenient to purchase the Genoa City Pass.

Some people believe that it can be done without it. This is true if we were able to plan in detail our trip to Genoa, taking advantage of the free admissions to museums (bound to specific days and times), and deciding to discard a priori some places of interest.

As you can guess, this is certainly not an easy thing to do.

هناك unforeseen events that we cannot foresee (rain, queues, etc.), which can throw off all the minute accounts made to save money in an instant.

A pass gives you the freedom to see what you want, makes you extremely flexible and takes away the boredom of always having to deal with your wallet every time you are faced with a choice.

Some have complained that for the few attractions they have visited, at the end of the day, the pass is not worth it at all. Instead of just going into a few museums (that you may not even be interested in) you could take advantage of the opportunity (with the 72H pass) to take a segway tour of the historic center or rent Treecycle electric bicycles for an unforgettable ride along the Corso Italia waterfront or around the city center.

أظن they are really the best way to make the most of your vacation in Genoa and I assure you they will make you forget the money you spent to buy the pass.

Andrea – thank you for all this information. I am particularly interested in visiting the palaces in Strada Nuova when we are in Genova in June. It is confusing trying to find out (in English) which ones are open. Can you help? Also can you advise on the best ones to visit? Grazie.

    • يقول Andrea Semonella:

      Hi Laurence,

it’s not easy even for us Genoese to figure out which palaces are open and when 🙂

Anyway, you can visit Palazzo Rosso and Palazzo Bianco which are open anytime.

If you would like to take a guided tour, you can book a tour here.

      تحياتي الحارة،
